I have 8 of these ferrules and love them all. It makes sharpening much easier. Just loosen 2 allen head screws and remove the tool from the handle. I have much greater control over the tool while sharpening without the handles added weight. I also love the large handles I was able to make from scrapes of wood. They not only look great but are easy to hold and give me great control over the tool. I am in the process of making a 2 piece handle so I can shorten it when the need arrives. They also allow me to put away some of my seldom used tools and bring them out only when needed. Without a handle they take up much less room and fit in a small drawer.
