Its low maintenance, comfortable design allows greater worker flexibility with the use of different types of cartridges and filters for a variety of work environments. Cartridges are simply twisted on or off the facepiece for easy replacement, allowing the easily cleaned facepiece to be reused.
Single packs are ready to use and include: pair of 6001 organic vapor cartridges, 2 pair of 5P71 P95 particulate filter, pair of 501 cartridge retainers
All 3M Facepiece Respirators can be used with ANY of 3M's vapor cartridges and pre-filter combinations. The simple white, oblong pre-filters are held on to the cartridge with a 501 adapter. All round pre-filters, when used on a vapor cartridge, attach to a 502 adapter. Great product. It fits well, is easy to use and works great. Much easier to breath than the white single use mask. Anyone that does lots of wood work should have one of these.

I bought this to keep me from dying while I painted the inside of my house with a sprayer. It worked really well. While it did not keep out the paint smell, it kept out all of the paint particles. After painting 15 gallons in the basement in one session, the mask was still working well and keeping me alive.
It also helps me make darth vader sounds.
It also looks cool to my kids.

This respirator is ok. It gets hot, but part of that could be the filters that we were using. It fit my wife well and was easy to put on and off. The filters were also easy to place and remove.

I needed something more than a dust mask for some of my projects, but the respirators sold in the hardware stores are usually medium and large sizes -- too large for my smaller-size face. Anyone with experience with these type of respirators knows how important a good fit is for safe, effective use.
This small size respirator fits me great, the seal is comfortable, and with the different filters available, I can use it for dusts, vapors, or both. I also like the top head strap (a kind of split design into two straps) that provides added stability. Once I had this mask on, it stayed put.
I'd recommend this respirator to any handywomen like myself who sometimes need more than just a dust mask. HOWEVER: Be sure to familiarize yourself with the safety practices in using these types of respirators, read all instructions on your specific respirator, and if at all possible, have yourself fit tested. Safety devices of any type aren't safe if not used properly!
