The drawer pack works exactly as advertised and was easy to assemble. If you buy this at the same time as the cabinet (as I did) beware! If you install the drawer slides on the cabinet sides prior to assembling the cabinet, doing so will be an easy 2-3 minute job. I, however, did not do so. Instead I followed step by step the instructions for assembling the cabinet, then installing the top, etc. Nowhere in the cabinet assembly instructions does it mention the drawer pack and advise you to install the drawer slides prior to assembling the cabinet. Thus, I was faced with the choice of either disassembling the top and cabinet so I could easily install the drawer slides, or attempt to install the drawer slides without doing so. Since I had chosen the cast iron top and I could not face lifting it up and off and back up again, I chose what I thought was the lesser of two evils and decided to install the drawer slides in the completely assembled cabinet. Let me tell you, it's possible to do so (it took me about 2.5 hours of fumbling in a cramped space with poor visibility), but not easy.
So, go ahead and get the drawer pack if you get the cabinet. When you consider your time and materials to build them yourself, I think you come out ahead using the bench dog product. But only if you pre-install the drawer slides so you don't wind up wasting a lot of time installing the drawer slides after having already built the cabinet.
