The most popular routers on the market have been divided into Groups, with a plate assigned to each Group.

1Poor qualityJan 09, 2009

I bought the first one and tried to mount it on the bench. I could get the corners flush, but the center was high (there was a bow in it). I sent it back and ordered a new one. Same thing. I may just go to a metal shop and have one made.

3router plateApr 08, 2010
By t zup
Plate is made well as far as materials go. The problem lies in the lack of instructions and installation guides. I contacted bench dog & they said they are working on this issue. I had to custom make jack bolts to align this to a workable height. Took 2-1/2 hours to set. Although they show my router fitting this plate, I had to drill my own hole for the t handle height adjustment. They also said they are working on this misinformation as well.
(You must also buy the center section seperate). The write up is also not too clear on this and I found out after.

If you are handy & capable of customizing, then buy this.
If not, stay away from this.

1Not flateJun 02, 2010

Similar problem with another with regards to plate flatness. Thus, I have to spend a lot of time adjusting the level screws to get it "near" flat. The insert was also not flush. So I had to send that down.

Everything else is basic, nothing special. You have to screw in the inserts (vs drop in and lock). Flatness is pretty fundamental, thus I have it give it 1 star.

I've used the plate on the cast iron extension. Thank goodness, the cast iron is flat.

4well built plateDec 23, 2009
By Edward "Eddie P"
Well built metal plate. Solid, with holes for specific routers. Instructions lacking, specifically on leveling screws. Took some time to figure out what they meant. A suggestion would be to have an insert that would cover the open hole entirely when I use my table saw mounted router table as a table saw extension only

4Great Plate - No InstructionsJun 28, 2010
By Hayward Weaver
This is a great plate it fit right up to my router with out any problems. Installing it into the Bench Dog table top was a little tricky since the plate comes with no installation instructions. If they would include some kind of instructions I would have given it a 5 out of 5 star rating.
