Needs An Instruction ManualOct 09, 2010

This is a simple plate that is a required accessory for a router table. I ran into two problems. First, installation is easy but not completely obvious. No instructions are included. Amazon.com reviews of a similar plate mention the lack of instructions for at least a year. One even mentioned that he contacted the manufacturer and was told they were working on it. Second, the screw holes did not like up perfectly with the holes on the router base. I had to use too much force to attach the router.

I bought this plate to replace an old and sagging phenolic one that came with my purchase of a used Bench Dog router table. Plate worked great, was flat and level, and cured the sag problem. I ordered the Std Group 2 because the Bench Dog site said it would fit my Freud 2-1/4 hp router. The pre-drilled holes lined up perfectly with the router.
Amazon always does a good job with providing useful reviews, shipping, communications, and price.
Amazon and the Bench Dog plate are highly recommended.
Great PlateNov 11, 2011

I have not had any problems with this plate. I did not even realize that it had instructions, to me it seems simple. I just installed it on the table and leveled it with the bench top and then installed the router. The only problem is I had to remove the handles so I could remove the plate without removing the router, this is not true with all routers. I have more than one plate and did not need to remove the handles on it.
