Work Really Well but ExpensiveDec 25, 2006
By David C. Brayton These things work really well with the MFT. You can get quite a bit of pressure of these. They work great for sanding, saw, etc. But if you are handplaning on edge, they aren't strong enough but this is an admittedly tough task for this set up. I've also used these on a couple of jigs. Just drill a 20mm hole and you can use these anywhere.
The ideal situation would be to own 2 sets of these. There are several times I have wanted more than two of these. Unfortunately, these things are phenomenally expensive. It seems that these things sgould be about $35, $50 tops. The current price of $80 makes one feel they have been taken advantage of in a bad way.
Better than a mate in the shop.Aug 15, 2011

Need a second pair of hands, but if you ask a mate to help, he will probably drink all the beer in your fridge as well?
Don't despair, these clamps lock your project down onto a bench that has 20mm holes drill into it. You don't need an MFT to use them! I made an 8 x 4 feet table top and drilled 20 mm holes into it and hey presto, a super cheap alternative. copy and paste this link into your browser to see [..]
Quick, Convenient and StrongAug 11, 2011
By Alan Montgomery This is just one of those accessories you have to have if you own an MFT by festool. if you need to hold something steady while you are sanding, drilling or Domino'ing this is what you need.
These are short enough that a 3/4" piece of wood sits completely above it so you can't make contact with them on accident. The holding force is easily adjustable and they are attached and detached with one hand.
The reason I'm giving them 4 stars is they like to slightly lift the work upward if you really have them holding tightly. This is ok for most applications but if you are drilling mortises in the sides you like to use the table as a reference.
Good Clamps but could be improved on....Oct 26, 2010

I have used these clamps in conjunction with an MFT1080 table. These are very useful for holding glued up panels for sanding. Within limits, they can also be used for clamping and gluing recognizing clamp pressures are somewhat limited. These clamps work best when holding parts needing to be worked, i.e., routing, sanding, sawing. More clamping pressure would be useful as well as a lower price. They will not take the place of bar clamps in my shop for the time being.
Great clamps if you need themJun 15, 2010

These are not the first clamps that I reach for; but they are some of the most convenient. They are great for round or irregular pieces or for working on the face of a piece. They are pretty pricey if all you do is rectangular work. They and similar clamps are not for planing, chisel work carving etc. where a lot of force has to be applied; that's what a vise is for after all. They are far away better than the other similar, but cheaper, clamps I have used. They work best with tables like the MFT with a lot of well spaced holes. Unless you need them often they are difficult to justify because of the price.
