Works great for big and small frames!Jan 25, 2010
By J. Brooks I bought Rockler's version of this clamp (it's the same one, just labeled differently) and I am very pleased with the results I've achieved with it.
Assembly was pretty straight forward, just four nuts and bolts and you're ready to go.
One thing I did notice is that if your material isn't quite even, it will help square it up because of how even it applies pressure. For instance I had four pieces of stock that I was making into a frame and they varied about 1/8" (one was 18 7/8", another 19", another 18 15/16", and another 18 7/8"). Instead of trimming it all down to the exact size I just went for it. After glueing, clamping, and waiting a day I checked the diagonals to see how square it was and all diagonals measured about a 32nd within 26 1/2", pretty impressive especially considering I didn't have completely perfect stock.
I then started to make some movie sized picture frames with it, cut the materials to exact measurements this time and the frames came out PERFECT.
Now the only real issue I have with this is that the plastic clamp pads are already starting to wear out from moving and repositioning them into the holes of the aluminum bar and I have yet to find a place to get replacement pads... so I'll more then likely end up making my own to solve this issue.
Great clamp, works great, breaks down to store easy, a must have for the common woodworker!
Pros: Fairly cheap. Works fantastically. Makes super tight and clean corners. So easy a monkey can use it.
Cons: Can't seem to find replacement parts for it anywhere, so if the clamp pads wear out or break I'm kinda SOL.

Sometimes we try to create complicated solutions to simple tasks. This frame does just the opposite. It is a very simple tool to use, and I was simply ecstatic on how it got the job done.

Fast easy to useJul 25, 2011
By W. Lowers Fast, easy to use and gets the job done. I needed a framing tool to do 24 x 36 inch frames and this does the trick - I just used an additional clamp (as per the instructions with the framing tool). - 4 frames later... I was very satisfied.

Simple, easy to use, lightweight reasonably priced and does a good job.
For someone like myself who requires its use only occasionally, its superb.
