Great Base for JWTS-10Dec 04, 2007
By J. Eggar This is a great base for those of you who have a JWTS-10 table saw from Jet. The casters are of high quality and roll very easily. The table saw legs themselves fit into the base with about a quarter inch to spare all around. This may seem loose to some, but I haven't had any problems with shifting or tilting. I've equipped my tables saw with a 30-inch Xacta fence though, so a 50-inch setup may be less stable.
As I said before, this base is equipped with nice wide wheels, the one at the extension table end being the widest of all and very easy to swivel. The two wheels at the table saw end of the base have large bolts with black plastic knobs for locking the base in place. While some people find this setup inferior to the stomp-and-lift setups on many newer bases, the system on this base works well enough and, once again, no worrying about tipping.
Finally, the construction of the entire frame is very sturdy and there is no assembly required. For this reason it does ship in a rather large, flat box. The welds have all held up well and the dark gray powder coat has survived bumping into various things.
I'd highly recommend going with the support legs if you do buy this because they do add some stability to the extension table overall.
