Does a good job but hard to setupJan 30, 2007

If you want razor sharp knife, this jig is a must.
2 notes of cautions though
1/ It really only works for big knifes.
2/ It is hard to setup and the instruction on the DVD are just not enough (at least they were not for me). You can download some instruction from the competition that make an identical Jig. They will show you how to position the knife properly which is not obvious.
Once you get use to setup your knifes correctly you can get some really good results in no time.

Only need the long knife jig.Mar 11, 2007
By Paul I bought the Tormek manual when I bought the Jet sharpener so I used their instructions for the long knife jig. With the proper initial setup using the angle setter, amazing results were obtained. Paper thin slices of tomato amazed my wife. By moving the jig to the right side of the stone short knives could be sharpened with the tip facing left and visa-versa. I bought the Tormek angle setting tool which I liked much more than the Jet two piece unit and perhaps using it I obtained the amazing results. Every knife in the house in now razor sharp. AMAZING!

Perfect for your long knives...Mar 12, 2007
By Matt & Dana Pros: Great jig for sharpening long knives with flexy blades..
Cons: Finish isn't perfect, adjustment screw is a little rough
Conclusion: It is a $29 jig, you cannot expect $200 worth of quality. It does what it needs to perfectly and works well with the jet. No serious problems that impact sharpening quality. Thus 5 stars.
