Powerful clampAug 08, 2009
By J. Blunt I've been using these for occasional use around the house for 3-4 years now, and they still work well.
Very powerful clamp when you need it, but not appropriate for delicate work- It'll damage light woods (e.g. balsa).
The ONLY clamp I'll ever useApr 02, 2012
By Scotford I've looked multiple brands of adjustable clamps and the Jorgensen brand is the only brand that HASN'T let me down. You would think alll adjustable clamps would be built the same but that is not the case. Not only is this product made in USA but this well built and this clamp be adjusted from zero pounds to fifty pounds with a Phillips screwdriver type 2. Now the spring that holds this clamp together is made out solid steel but the finish is rust resistant but I am not sure what though. I've had all my adjustable clamps professionally lubricated and cleaned in addition to the rust resistance this clamp has. So what also is useful with this clamp is that this clamp is about to hold irregular items as well. This is useful when I am dealing with bead board or in some cases smooth leather that just just doesn't want to conform to what I want it to. Now just to clarify just because this item is adjustable caution should be used though. When working with wood less weight is often better in my personal opinion due to prior experiences. Jorgensen is the only company that produces adjustable and non adjustable clamps. The only difference with the non adjustable clamps is that they are made out metal and can't hold irregular objects. However, they are still made in USA.
This Jorgensen Pony adjustable clamp is the best type of clamp in the market and the least frustrating one on the market in my opinion though. Craftsman and Irwin certainly didn't held up and actually literaly had one Craftsman clamp break on me just by opening the clamp. Excellent clamp and I only recommend Jorgensen Pony to anyone who wants long lasting clamp and one that actually meant for serious work.
