5Excellent clamp. Even better serviceMay 08, 2004
By Dee Soren
Compared to the other major brand clamp in this category, (I own both brands) the Jorgensen cabinet master clamps have a larger handle, beefier hardware, and a larger clamping surface area. I've already had cause to use the reversable feature. The spring loaded end piece helps keep your clamp flat on the table when its in use They clamp very square (I checked with my machinist square)

I've had a hardware failure on one of the clamps. So why did I give it 5 stars? Because I got on the Jorgensen web site, and told them of my problem. Within a day they had responded and said that in the window of time I had bought mine, they discovered a design issue that cause the floating washer to come off the screw (which is the problem I had.) They offered (I didn't have to ask) to ship me replacement screw mechanisms for all four of the clamps I bought. It came in a few days, no questions asked, no arm twisting, no delays. That is first class service. It took me 5 minutes per clamp to swap out.

I won't be buying any more of the "B" clamps.

3not bad for the moneySep 24, 2007

I have 20 of these clamps in lengths from 18" to 60" and wouuldn't work without them. I haven't had the breakage issue that others seem to be having and I've had mine for more than five years. I tried the "B" brand and would have bought more of them if the handles were as big as the ones on the Jorgensen clamps. All things being equal performance wise, give me the bigger handles.

4Good clamps, better serviceJul 15, 2007
By P. Dyck "tool nut"
I bought 10 of these clamps in the past few years. As one reviewer noted the pig iron broke while in the midst of a glue up. I called the company and the clamp heads that are silver in color are defective and they replaced all the heads for free. The newer ones are black and I have 2 of those and they have stood up well to everything I threw at them. I have to admit Bessy makes a top notch clamp and I have been replacing the Jorgensens one by one when they break. 4 stars for an american product that probably deserves a 1. Customer service wins the day here.

1Buy Bessey ProductsNov 18, 2006
By Andy Anderson "Escalante Anderson"
I bought two of these, and put them to use a couple days later. I had the project all glued up and started clamping. One of the clamps broke (the pig iron in the mechanism), without my having put much pressure on it at all.

When it's glue time, it's crunch time, and failures like this are inexcusable. Unless they can send me a new clamp before my glue dries, I don't care how friendly and responsive their customer service is.

Since then I've purchased about 10 similar Bessey clamps, and haven't had a bit of trouble with them. I won't go back to Jorgensen--can't afford the risk.
