Good basic size, get at least 2.Aug 15, 2003
By G. Powell These clamps have been around for ever. Any good woodworking shop has a pile of them. Get them in pairs at a minimum and get a variety of sizes you won't be sorry. They'll last your lifetime and longer.Oh yeah the other dimension you need to know is the distance from the tip to the middle spindle on this clamp is 5 inches.

DisappointedFeb 02, 2012
By Bret Meyer Seem to be the same old wood clamps, but was incredibly disappointed when I saw a "Made in China" sticker on them. The threaded rod is a bright shinny silver now - haven't used them long enough to know if the quality has dropped or not. Minus 2 stars for moving production to China. If you don't care about that, you'll likely be happy with these.

Made In ChinaFeb 03, 2012

Jorgensen hand screws are now apparently made in China, and the quality has dropped accordingly. They are no longer any better than the shoddy hand screws you can buy at China Freight or R*ckler. The threading on the new ones is not a square thread, the handles are much cheaper now, and the rivets holding the handles on are chincy and break free. Very lame. Congratulations if you receive a genuine made-in-USA version, but don't count on it.

Great GiftMay 02, 2002
Bought this clamp for my husband, didn't know what I was really doing. But he said that it was one of the easiest and best clamps on the market. So I guess I got lucky and chose a good brand.
Great traditional clampSep 26, 2011

After decades of woodworking projects, I finally bought these and am very happy with how well the design works. While not fast and require two hands, they hold your work incredibly well.
A nice little trick to quickly open or close in fast amounts before clamping on work, spin the entire clamp holding a handle in each hand as if you're pedaling a bike by hand. That opens or closes quickly depending on direction. Then fine tune once clamping down on work pieces.
Will purchase more in the future as my needs increase.
