Great vise... not for new 12" Milwaukee sawsMay 14, 2009
By E. Bickford I bought this for use with my new Milwaukee 6955-20 sliding miter saw. Unfortunately the post of the vise isn't tall enough to clear the sliding fence on this saw. In addition, while there is a hole that looks as though it should accept a clamp similar to this one in design the post doesn't thread into it, either because the hole in the base of the saw isn't threaded or because it's too large in diameter for this post. So while this is a solidly made vise it would have been very helpful if this lack of compatibility had been mentioned somewhere either in Amazon's listing or on Milwaukee's website. I'll be returning this item.

DO NOT BUY THIS if you have newer Milwaukee miter sawsMar 05, 2010
By Valentine Azbelle DO NOT BUY this clamp if you have newer Milwaukee miter saws. I have a 6955-20 SCMC and this clamp WILL NOT WORK with it. In fact there is no clamp designed for 6955-20 (and I'm guessing 6950-20 since it appears to be the same saw only without the slider). I spoke to a Milwaukee rep and he said the new saws were designed without the ability to use clamps(according to him per contractor feedback, which I find hard to believe - I have yet to meet a professional that would not like an option to use a clamp on a miter saw). The two holes behind the fence are very misleading. No one knows what they are for or why they are there at all. Also Amazon's description says - "Works with all Milwaukee miter saws". That is false. I bet I'm not the first one who spent $80 on a pair of these clamps and has to return them and be out the shipping charges. Very disappointed in Milwaukee. And Amazon should correct the description to which saws this clamp actually works for (or at least take down "Works with all Milwaukee miter saws").

clamp that works for milwaukee 6955-20Jun 04, 2011

I got a hold of Bosch's miter saw clamp, PN MS1226 BOSCH MS1226 Vertical Quick Clamp for 4412 4410 5412L 4410L Miter Saws, and found that it works great with this saw! The design of the Bosch clamp is such that the vertical post of the clamp is knurled to prevent it from slipping in the vertical hole of the saw base. The clamp also features a quick-release clamping handle that makes it very easy to engage and disengage. To use the MS1226 clamp with the Milwaukee 6955-20, you simply drop the clamp's vertical post into the hole on the base of the saw, let the clamping pad sit on the material being cut, push down on the clamping handle to lock it in place, and cut. Pull up on the clamping handle to release. Too bad Milwaukee doesn't sell a material clamp, but you can buy the Bosch MS1226 for about $20.

ExcellentMar 13, 2009
By Thomas C. Hamilton Only thing that could be improved would be a 'speed slip' to get the clamp into vertical position. Strong and like all Milwaukee tools and accessories, very well made.

Didn't work at firstJun 23, 2009
I bought this without much research. So, it didn't fit my Milwaukee 12" 6995. Easy fix for this saw. The base for the fence gaurd has a total of four holes. I put threads on the outer left hole and outer right hole. I would suggest to make multiple cuts done at the same time if possible. Otherwise, you're swaping back and forth everytime. I could buy another but I rarely use it. Still a handy thing to have in a pinch.
