5A need to have toolJan 28, 2006
By Lambert J. Louviere Jr.
I bought it to adjust my planer infeed/outfeed rollers and knives as well as to set my jointer knives. It takes the guess work out setting planners and jointers and it is very simple to use. I have also used it to set my router table bits when using my incra jig and it works nicely. Nice tool to have for such a cheap price that will give you the accuracy that you need.

4Multi GuageSep 02, 2009
By Tom Haines
I bought the multi guage to set-up jointer knives, It worked very well and allowed me to adjust the knives to within .002 "
I would recommend this tool for set up on older machines that do not self index.

5A must haveFeb 26, 2008
By Rick A. Gifford
This is probably one of my favorite tools around the shop. I use it to check alignment and the setup on pretty much everything. Setting the jointers fence square is a snap. Don't even try trusting a tools dial plate for accuracy. I set the jointers blades with this, and check the depth setting for cuts as well. This is an extemely accurate tool.

Table saw blade height is easy as well. When you need a precise depth this tool will get you there.

Combined with a Beall Tilt Box or Wixey Angle Gauge and your all set for fine adjustments.

5Should have bought it years agoJan 20, 2011
By Randall R. Anderson
This is a very good tool that as other have said allows accurate and easy setting of knives and blades. I have a 20in. Oliver jointer and I can slide the Multigauge down the knife and easily measure and set it. Hitting .002 in. is a piece of cake. Now the gauge does not come with a case, which is a mistake. I would recommend that if you buy a Multigauge you plan on making a padded case. The dial indicator on the gauge has a button follower to rest on the knife. The wide footprint of the button follower is key to making the gauge work. It allows you to move the knive back and forth watching the indicator to find and set the maximu knife height. Also I bought my gauge at Harville for $84. There is a utube video online emonstrating the gauge. I think the more common magnetic knife holders are more than adequate and probably work just as well but the dial indicator gives a measurement which I prefer.

5Excellent ToolJul 30, 2010
By Gus
The Oneway Multi Gauge tool is machined to give excellent accuracy when it is used to set the height of the knives on a jointer. After reading the procedure for setting knives found on the Fine Woodworking website, I purchased the Oneway tool. Although the process is still time consuming, the results seem to be more accurate than I got using the different magnet jigs found on the market.
