Nice additionSep 25, 2007
By Eric Francis

It's a nice addition to the Barracuda chuck. It comes with two different height "pins" that you can screw in. My only complaint is that the rubber/plastic covering the pins is a bit hard and not very sticky. I was expecting something a bit softer with more grab. I've only used it a couple of times to try to fix up some out of round bowls and each time, I've had a catch and the bowl goes flying out... Guess I need to work on my technique.

Nice Jaws, could be biggerJun 23, 2009
By Robert Bredlie The jaws work well within their limits. I have finished the bottoms of several bowls on them and none of them have escaped despite my ham-handedness. My only complaint is that (to me) a jumbo bowl is bigger than 8". 10" would be great, 12" awesome. I am considering looking into making fatter pins to expand the holding size for inside grips.

PSI CJAWFJ2 Jumbo Flat Jaws DefectJan 23, 2009
By wood master I never would have thought when buying this product that it would be designed with gaps in the inside and outside diameters of items it can grip. When turning my first hollow cylinder, I found that by moving the threaded pegs from one setting to another that neither setting would hold my project -- one setting slightly too big and the smaller setting slightly too small. This is taking into consideration the maximum adjustment using the Barracuda 2 chuck. The threaded holes in the jaw plates are spaced far enough apart that it creates these gaps.

Holds well, but black rubber can leave marks on lighter woodJan 05, 2009
By B. Meyers These jaws are built solid and are useful when cleaning up the foot of a bowl. Be careful when turning a bowl's foot to make sure you do not knock the item out since it it only gripped by the rubber feet. I have had the feet slip, causing black marks to be left on light wood.

Works like it's supposed to at a reasonable price!Dec 05, 2008
By R. Edwards Bought this set of jaws to use with my Baracuda II chuck for turning the bottoms of bowls. So far it works fine. I also apply a few pieces of masking tape for a little extra safety in holding the bowl. I can't see how a more expensive set of jaws would do the job any better.
