Great chuck system!Oct 07, 2008
By David A. Keeling I've used every set of jaws on this chuck now and I've been thrilled with how well it has worked for me. I'm just an amateur turner, but this fit my Jet Mini Lathe and I needed a chuck to get started on something besides spindle work.
The jaws are numbered, so it is easy to change them out and they do change out quickly, but I still wish I had another chuck to leave my two favorite sets of jaws on there.
If you turn very green wood, it is a good idea to make sure your jaws are tight enough every once and a while. I've had a few pieces come off, when I was hollowing. But I haven't had that problem now that I check it every so often.
It's really a great value and I have nothing but good things to say about it.

Seems excellent and well madeMay 14, 2008
By Rod Builder I am just a beginner at wood turning, but I have used it some since I got it and it is very well made and easy to use. It is just the right size for the Jet mini lathe I purchased at the same time. If you are getting or have a mini lathe I highly recommend this product.
Not a happy turnerFeb 11, 2012
By Camera Bug The chuck system pictured is not the one I received. I received the PSI bottom of the line chuck, with few options available and an odd-ball size. Got a fast refund, and ordered a PSI CSC2000C, which I like and is as pictured on line.
A true bargin for a solid chuckJan 09, 2012

"salty"
I have a couple other larger and more expensive chucks but wanted one for small turnings. Though I bought mine from the source this price is much better. Also there is a set of larger jaws not shown that can hold 2 inches or more(I am not going to measure but I know there large) If you ever make a tenon to small or to large for another chuck chances are one of these will fit. I have turned 9 inch heavy bowls with no issue. Without the insert it fits my larger lathe with 1x 8 threads. It comes with a "T" handle and extra screws. The key works well and there is no reason I am not completely happy with this chuck. In fact I am tempted to buy another which is why I am here to start with. Well made and should last. I you are just starting out and don't have a lot of money this chuck is solid.
Just what I was look for ... Just as stated in the ad for itOct 22, 2011
By WT9H The chuck was received very quickly and was what I wanted. It works just fine for the small items I turn (pens, thimbles and needle cases) I'm looking forward to trying other items on it and hoping it works as well as it has so far.
