 Pretty good... for a simple adapterJan 31, 2010

Fit and finish are good. My only complaint is that the set screw that is used to tighten the adapter stripped after only a week of use. I replaced it with a longer stainless steel screw that has a deeper hex recess, and should last longer due to more engagement area. Otherwise, it does exactly what it is designed for. I use it with a Nova Midi chuck on my Shopsmith. When I bought the chuck at Woodcraft, they told me that it couldn't be adapted to a Shopsmith! Guess I showed them.

I have 2 Shopsmiths. They are great! If this is a changeable tool then why have two? You can find them at a very cheep price now. Just missed the third. Needed this adapter so I can keep one Shopsmith set up as a lathe. Looked several places and then thought - Amazon. They can provide almost anything. My favorite shopping place. Safe and secure with quick delivery. Never had a problem. And searched on "Shopsmith" and quickly found what I needed.

Nice adapter for Shopsmith Mark 5 lathe. You can now use other people's faceplates on your Shopsmith. Fits on my machine just fine, no problems.
