Adapter is well machined and dead on center. Only thing I would have liked to see on it was a set screw to lock the adapter on the sppindle when in "reverse" mode. Many other adapters have such feature.

I purchased this spindle adapter so I could switch chucks back and forth between my lathes which have different spindle sizes. It also came in handy when making a threading jig. Nice machining.

The adaptor (1-1/4 x 8 tpi to 1 inch x8tpi chuck) was machined better than I thought it would be. No snags when turning it into place from either the 1-1/4 or 1 inch ends. It is, however, solid on the 1 inch end. If you have a vacuum system that goes through the headstock and you have 1 tpi vacuum bells you will not be able to form your vacuum, obviously.

Well made adapter. It runs true, and the threads a properly cut. The price is very good. There needs to be a 5/16" center hole drilled to allow use with a vacuum system, but that can easily be done on the lathe. Also, there should be two holes drilled and tapped for set screws to be used to secure the adapter to the lathe spindle if you plan on using reverse. Both of these missing qualities are easily remedied in the shop, and if added to the retail version would probably cause a price increase (??).

I have several 1x8 tpi chucks and faceplates from my old lathe. This adapter has allowed me to continue to use them all. My alternative would have been to buy new faceplaces and adapters for each of my chucks.
This is an excellent solution. The only downside is you loose about 2in between centers.
