Very pleased -- the threads on my 1950s Walker-Turner had been rusted and are a bit worn down from rust removal, but this spindle adapter fits fine and runs very true. I had hoped it would be true enough to use a 4-jaw chuck without too much wobble, and was surpised there's essentially no run-out. Excellent way to extend your spindle or adapt it for another thread.

I had a PSI four jaw chuck designed for a mini lathe that I wanted to use on my full size Grizzly lathe. I purchased an adapter from Woodcraft that was mislabeled (it was not 12 TPI) so I took it back and searched here on Amazon. This adapter is exactly what I needed and much nicer than the Woodcraft part. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and weight of this one. For the price I expected it to be much cheaper metal and lower quality finish. This product is beefy and very well made. I can't imagine it being any better. The threads are cut beautifully and it fits both my lathe and my chuck perfectly. The hole in the side to assist tightening is a nice touch.

Barracuda2 Chuck Adapted to Grizzly G1095 LatheNov 21, 2007

I first purchased the chuck from Penn State Industries (PSI) for my Craftsman lathe. The Craftsman lathe broke beyond economical repair so I replaced it with the Grizzly G1095. Problem was, Craftsman headstock spindle drive end is a 1" 8TPI as well as the Barracuda and the Grizzly is a 1" 12TPI. PSI makes an adapter and that's what this is. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars as it is well built and HEAVY DUTY. I have purchased several items from PSI and have yet to be disappointed. PSI customer service dept was wonderful to work with to find out what I needed to do.

perfect for my myford lathe, now i can get loads of chucks etc. It is very hard to get anything to fit the 1" x 12tpi, its almost obsolete, this adapter turns it into a more common thread.

This adapter allows us to use chucks that are 1" x 8tpi on our Grizzley lathe. Awesome product and we love buying from Amazon because even though this product is sold by Penn State Industries, we get it much faster through Amazon.
