These chisels are ok for if you are not planning to do much in the way of turning. You can buy chisels for less and get the same performance or get a much better set for more money the will give much better performance. If you a beginner, get the cheapest set you can buy and practice turning and sharpening to find out what you like and need before investing in a good set of chisels and spend the money for a good set.

bought these for a birthday present and went to turn my first thing on my brand new lathe and it lasted about five minutes and one of the tools broke and now im dealing with a broken thumb and just was lucky that i had my face shield on. i would not buy these again.. the amazon store will not even let me return them for a new one
