Outstanding Quality. Good Price.Feb 01, 2012
By D Anderton I was drilling a hole in a 3x5 plastic project box. I was in a hurry and tried to push too big a drill bit through too small a pilot hole. The drill bit grabbed and ripped the box out of my hand and then into space. Fortunately, it missed my face and flew out of the garage and half way across the driveway. After that experience, I thought I had better do my drilling with something other than my (gloved) hand holding the work piece. My collection of C-clamps was really not the answer and so I shopped for a vise clamp.
I looked at various manufacturers and various price ranges. Though this vise from Palmgren will cost more than the 'low cost' models--but, boy is it built to last. It is heavy with twice the throat depth of the low-end clamps. The screw drive is augmented with a guide shaft for better precision and stability.
Very impressed. Very pleased.

By Fast Trac I have used Palmgren vices at work and was skeptical of the price since most are USA made industrial quality and sell for a lot more. Although it is an import, the quality is very good. All machined surfaces are ground flat and the jaws match perfectly when closed. This is a great vice for my home workshop. You can't go wrong on the price.
Oustanding drill press viseJun 24, 2011
By GabrielEVH This vise is quality. It is well worth the price. Very heavy and the jaws are essentially dead-square. The parallelism of the base to the vise table is spot on (checked with a digital angle gauge). From now on I'm only buying Palmgren vises.
