Because water stones are softer than other stones, the surface is worn away and fresh abrasive is continually exposed. The result is a consistently fast cutting surface. Keep these generously sized, professional quality stones soaking in water and re-flatten occasionally on a flat abrasive surface. | | | Features: | |
• 6000 Grit Finishing Stone quickly produces the finest, sharpest edge.
• Generous 7/8" x 2 7/8" x 8 1/8" size accomodates a variety of tools.
• Uses water as a lubricant for clean, mess free sharpening.

Suehiro 6000 Grit Large WaterstoneAug 08, 2008
By spooky a very fine stone, much better than some 6'000 oil stones i'd used, keeps a shinning and smooth edge on my 15 years old swiss army knife, the final finish by using this stone is far better than my linsky sharpening sets with cermic and diamond oil stones, very good!

Waterstones are soo expensive but you can argue with results. This one worked just fine and was affordable. Im not making ninja swords but I do like the finish on the edge with this tool.
