Worth the money, great addition to my router table upgradeJul 14, 2007
By Jeffrey Opett It seems like too much of my limited shop time gets consumed changing the configuration of my various woodworking machines. One of the worst offenders was my old router table that required the removal of the router from the table. Once the router was wrestled free, a pair of wrenches were required to extract a bit and implant a new one. I finally decided to bite the bullet and bought one of the new router lift systems from Jess Em. Integral to this upgrade was the ability to change bits above the table. The Eliminator RC Quick Change Chuck significantly enhances the capability of the Jess Em Table as now a bit change requires only a few cranks on the lift to expose the chuck followed by a quick turn with an allen wrench to loosen/tighten the collett. I have run both small and large bits at varying RPM with no noticable vibrations. Bit performance appears unaffected when tested on numerous hardwoods such as oak, cherry and hard maple. I have my RC Eliminator Chuck installed in a Porter Cable 7518 router motor. Hopes this helps with your decision.

JunkDec 06, 2007

I have been using a router for many years. I put this on a Porter Cable 690 and it vibrated terribly. I read the instructions and tried everything they suggested to remove the vibration but it didn't help. I guess the fact that they send instructions on how to attempt to remove the vibration should be a flag for anyone. I wasted my money.

Good...but a flawMar 29, 2007
By T. Forgan I've had this for quite a while and it does make bit changes very, very quick and easy. However I have noticed when I tighten down the set screw, that it puts little knicks or dents in my router bit. I don't know if it really affects my router, but after paying so much for router bits, I don't think this chuck should ding them up.
works greatDec 29, 2011
By Tracy Poole This makes changing router bits so much faster. I only wished they made them for all my routers. I have a Milwaukee router that I use on my router table that I would put it on if only they made it. I think it makes woodworking so much faster.
